9-15-16 Flash Fiction Challenge (prompt word: cabinet)

“I swear,” Eleanor fanned herself. “The Cabinet members harrumphed and muttered, just like in that scene from Blazing Saddles.”
“But do you think they bought it? Will they hand over the documents?” Her companion reclined against the back of the wicker chair, but his form remained rigid.
She took a sip of her Mint Julep and flashed her startling green eyes at Director Stonehedge over the rim of the glass.
“Darling,” she purred and leaned forward to expose a generous décolletage. “By the time I was done with them, they would have given me the Presidency.”

(Today’s challenge was how racy to make the characters. Eleanor sounds like a hoot. I’d love to get to know her better. But alas, the single minute to write it makes that sort of intimacy with a character challenging. What do you think? Do you get a flavor of who she is? What reaction do you have to her as a person? I’m always curious about how other people perceive the characters that populate my mind and my stories. I have a feeling Eleanor os the quintessential Steel Magnolia with a healthy dose of heat thrown in for good measure.)
